Beit Shemesh Suns Beat Rise-Hi For the First Time
In an exciting, tightly contested game, the Beit Shemesh Suns overcome Rise-Hi for the first time in team history. Aaron Cohen‚€™s three run home run gave the Suns a brief three run lead. Rise-Hi responded with eight runs in the bottom of the first and expanded their lead to 14-3 in the bottom of the third. Beit Shemesh roared back in the top of the fourth with nine runs, including a mammoth three run home run by Adam Fishman, to cut the lead to 14-12. At the end of the 5th the game was tied at 17. With two outs, the top of Beit Shemesh line up worked their magic one more time and scored two runs off of five consecutive hits. Suns pitcher recorded a strike out and induced two ground balls to seal the victory. Jan Wimpfheimer played superbly at first base and went 5-5. Jeff Mor made many fantastic throws from shortstop, batting 2-3 and driving in three runs. Lavey Friedman went 3-4 and had 3 rbi‚€™s.
